ワイマール音楽大学教授、ライプツィヒ音楽院ヴァイオリンおよび室内楽主任教授、ライプツィヒ放送交響楽団、ゲヴァントハウス管弦楽団コンサートマスター、ゲヴァントハウス弦楽四重奏団第1ヴァイオリン奏者を歴任。1962年、ゲヴァントハウス･バッハ管弦楽団を創立
。1980年には霧島国際音楽祭・講習会を創立。2000年まで音楽監督を務め、現在は名誉音楽監督。引き続き講師、指揮者として後進の指導にあたっている。
1998年、神戸室内合奏団首席指揮者、2000年神戸室内合奏団音楽監督に、2002年2月新日本フィルミュージックアドヴァイザーに就任。1998年ドイツ連邦共和国政府より功労十字勲章（1等）を授与。 |
Held professorship at� the Leipziger Konservatorium.
Served as First Concertmaster. Founded the Gewandhaus Bach Orchestra.
Established the Kirishima International Music Festival in 1980, serving
as Music Director until 2000. Continues today to be actively associated
with this festival as Honorary Music Director. Became Principal Conductor
of the Kobe City Chamber Orchestra in 1998 and Music Director in 2000.
Served as� Chief Guest Conductor of the New Japan Philharmonic 2000-2002,
and is presently its Music Advisor.
He is a recipient of the National Prize (from the government of Germany), the
Nickisch Prize and Artistic Prize (from the city of Leipzig) and the Cross for
Meritorious Service, First Class (from the German government). |
